BottleNet - Personalised Champagne Champagne J. De Telmont is from Damery, a small village, 8km from Epernay on the banks of the River Marne.
De Telmont was founded by the Lhopital family in the middle of the last century and is ranked amongst the thirty largest champagne houses. Non Vintage champagne is a blend of wines from a number of years enabling a consistent taste and quality to be achieved.
By law non vintage champagne cannot be sold until two years after the harvest, but the best producers try and give the champagne at least four years bottle age. The non vintage is a blend of Pinot Noir, Meunier and Chardonnay grapes and is made exclusively from the "premiere cuvee" - the first pressing of the grapes. Vintage champagne is a blend of wines from a single year and reflects both the style of the producer and the character of the year. By law vintage champagne cannot be sold until three years after the harvest, but the best producers try and give the champagne at least five years bottle age.
Not every year in Champagne is declared a vintage, but this is the first in a succession of exceptional years. The vintage is a blend of Pinot Noir, Meunier and Chardonnay grapes and is made exclusively from the "premiere cuvee" - the first pressing of the grapes. It is well balanced, fruity and ideal for any occasion. Prices include delivery charges and VAT.
Saturday deliveries cost £6.50 (€8.17) extra.
